Dietary Services


DINING SCHEDULE

Our facility has multiple dining rooms to choose from. Our main dining rooms and assisted dining rooms are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dining times are:

  • Breakfast: 7-8:30am
  • Lunch: 11:30am - 1:00pm
  • Dinner: 5-6:30pm

Specific times may vary pending your dining location.

MEALS & MENUS

Our meals are made fresh three times a day in our in-house kitchen and are served to all our residents, employees, and guests. We are attentive to individual food preferences and do our best to ensure that each item on the meal tray matches a resident's choices.

GUEST TRAYS

Visitors are welcome to dine at NHC Healthcare, Lexington. Guest trays include an entrée, two vegetables, bread, drink, and dessert, and are available for $3.00 per tray. We request that you reserve a lunch tray before 10:30 a.m., and supper trays by 4:30 p.m. You are welcome to dine in our main dining room, but we will also accommodate requests for meals to be delivered to the room.

NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT

NHC Healthcare, Lexington has a registered dietitian on staff who conducts nutritional assessments of each patient. We have an established system to monitor meals and snacks to ensure proper hydration and nutrition of each patient based upon their dietary needs. Our dietitian and nursing staff have ongoing communication regarding any necessary diet changes. We continually monitor weight gain and loss, helping each patient achieve his or her optimum weight while taking into consideration a patient's medical condition.
